Autumn is always my time for reflection, considering the bounty that the warmer months has bought and the abundance of activity that has come before. Autumn forces us to slow our pace, the crunch of leaves underfoot is nature's handbrake being applied, a reminder to relish the remainder of the sun, the daylight, the warmth and zest before mildness and restraint arrives.
30 years of Smellies
There's so much to say about what that 30 years has looked like and despite all the ups and downs that come with small business ownership, I keep coming back to one simple word.
Blessed.
Some people spend a lifetime searching for their 'thing', I was lucky enough to stumble upon it at age 23.
The blessing is that my 'thing' has kept me content for three decades, more than half my life.
I'm very 'invisible' on my business socials, you won't see photos of me (or my staff) on those pages because the hero in what I do is not me, it's the flowers. It's always about the flowers.
Today I have broken the rule in showing my face in this blog, but here I am beaming like that bucket of dahlias.
I am blessed.
