Local Initiatives

We’re proud to be part of a generous, community-minded city filled with incredible people and inspiring charitable organisations. While we wish we could support them all, our resources are limited—so each year, we choose to focus our efforts on a small number of groups that align with our values and passions.

Through fundraising, donations, awareness campaigns and volunteering, we support initiatives that help young people and those in need. These are our Smellies community friends:

CHARITY
We’re proud supporters of Cottage by the Sea, a children’s charity offering seaside holidays and crisis accommodation for families doing it tough.

SPORT
Smellies is a corporate sponsor of St Mary’s Sporting Club, promoting youth involvement in sport and providing a positive, welcoming social environment for families. Visit stmaryssc.com.

HEALTH
We operate a small floral stand at St John of God Hospital Geelong, with a portion of every sale going directly to the Hospital Auxiliary to help fund vital patient services.

WORK EXPERIENCE
We’ve partnered with local secondary schools for many years, offering work experience placements to students interested in floristry. Many have gone on to become apprentices—and some are now full-time, qualified florists with us at Smellies.
